Intouch is a 100% Australian owned company. Established in 1993, our core business is about teaching Educators how to best use ICT in the classroom. We can give you all the educational and IT lingo and throw the words curricula and pedagogy around… but what does it all really mean? Let’s just keep it simple... We here at Intouch Consultancy teach, create and manage. That’s it in a nut shell.
Teach
Whether you are a high end techie, an overloaded corporate employee, a stressed out teacher, or a ‘oh heck where do I begin’ candidate... we can take you to wherever it is you need or want to go. Let’s take a little peek at how we can actually do this:
Are you among the majority of teachers who throw their hands in the air at the thought of having to book a computer lab with no guarantees that anything is going to work once you actually get there just so you can squeeze in a bit of technology? Does the knowledge of compulsory technology education scare you senseless? You’re not alone. We at Intouch will take you step by step through the skills outlined in the Technology aspects of the syllabus, give you tried and tested tips and tricks on how to overcome technology in the classroom issues and concerns, and show you how to make technology work for you. That is why Teachers Intouch was born. So we could make it easier for you to access quality resources, learn the skills required and deliver these to your students just in time.
Oh heck where do I begin? – Do you start breaking out in a cold sweat at the very idea of using a computer let alone the internet? Or do you have the common sense to know that technology skills are a must have in today’s work place but don’t even know where to begin? Let us calm the nerves and remove the frustration and confusion by taking you step by step through everything you need to know. We have a whole portfolio of resources and planning templates to make your life easier. Simply email us and we'll work with you and your team to plan a strategy and learning path that works for you.
Create
When it comes to creating resources that are practical, relevant and meaningful…we’ve got it nailed!
Teaching Resources – Ever looked through a textbook at the suggested activities and thought…yea right… who ever wrote this has obviously never been in a classroom before. Well rest assured, the resources you will find on this site, are created by teachers for teachers who know full well the demands placed on teachers. With this in mind, our resources are directly related to the curriculum, are motivating and inspiring, and are easy to teach and learn from! Go check out a sample of these wonderful lessons in the Free Lessons section.
Manage
Have you learnt all the skills and bought all the licenses and resources you need, but don’t really know where to start. Don’t know the difference between your bibs and bobs or don’t understand why your bobs aren’t bobbing like they should? We at Intouch can manage all that tail end stuff for you. Here’s how:
Have you got the vision but just don’t know how to get there? We can show you a clear path out of the woods and into the world of technology. We’ll work with the staff to develop a workable plan that takes into consideration the current skills of the staff, the needs of the students, the requirements of the syllabus and the availability of hardware (that’s just the IT words for the computers etc).
Our PD and IT planning tools can navigate a path for your whole school to take you from the novice to the guru. Together, we will develop a plan that clearly outlines the steps required to get everyone onboard at just the right pace and in just the right format for them. We cover off your goals, your current expertise, your preferred learning styles and incorporate curriculum requirements.
Do you have a network? Does it work? Does anyone know how to maintain it? Are you paying ridiculous fees to have an over qualified “expert” come into the school, disappear, leaving you with just an invoice? Well, we won’t do that. We’ll work together with you to plan a school network if you don’t have one, focusing on the needs of the teachers and curriculum, help select and purchase the hardware and software, setup the network, teach you what we are doing (in plain English) and support you even after we leave.
